Smoke alarm compliance
Properties sold from 1st January 2022 are now required to have hardwired photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarms installed in their properties with sellers to provide a Smoke Alarm Compliance Certificate. Sellers become obligated from the date that the initial contract is signed requiring them to upgrade prior to the dwelling being transferred or face losing a percentage of the sale price to cover the costs to the buyer having to install them to then make the property smoke alarm compliant.
