RELOCATING?
Moving to a new town can be somewhat different for everyone. It can range from moving to a familiar place you’ve visited, or to a place where your move is the first time you’ve been there. Both of these two moves can be a challenge, for some more challenging than others. Either way, I’m here to give you some tips, to help fit right into your new town and begin the next chapter of your life.
- New town. New me?
Moving to a new place where you may know approximately…no one, can often give you a fresh canvas to build yourself, and can open many doors for new opportunities. Here is a perfect chance to reflect on what positives and negatives you experienced in your previous town and grow to these strengths. This will help you get an idea of what to focus on, and to help you get the most out of this new opportunity. Keeping in mind, always remain who you truly are. - Become a tourist!
Put a few hours aside a day to take to explore the area. Pull over at the look outs, take photos, experience the local coffee shops.
If nature is your more your style, take a walk through the national parks that the town offers. Make sure you share these moments with your friends and family back at your old town, it helps keep the connection active. - Keep in touch.
Updating some of your moments onto social media is a great way to keep connected with friends and family back at your old home. Take the time to send a message to your close ones, let them know you’re still thinking of them. It creates a connection that doesn’t need physical contact. - Don’t forget to have fun!
Keeping a happy and healthy mind set is the key to a comfortable settlement. I constantly looked for adventures and I wasn’t afraid to try new things out. It kept things exciting and before I knew it I was becoming known amongst the locals.
