CAPRICORN COAST RAIL TRAIL
The Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail follows the route of a railway line originally constructed in 1909. This line was closed when the transportation of pineapples was shifted to road transport in 2006. The trail is now part of a network of former railway lines turned into rail trails for walkers, runners and cyclists. The first 4.5km section from the centre of Yeppoon to the Rockhampton – Yeppoon Road opened on Australia Day 2014.
